Courtney Barnett – Pedestrian At Best Single (2015)

Everyone’s favourite northside slacker, Courtney Barnett, has announced her debut album Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I just Sit with the release of the rocking lead single Pedestrian At Best. The track is an unapologetic catalogue of all her perceived flaws, failings and neuroses, laid out in her distinctive matter-of-fact voice and set to squalling power chords. Like all of Courtney’s songs, Pedestrian is unmistakably personal, reflecting on the uncertainty and lack of confidence she feels despite (or because of) her growing success. Her honest storytelling, though, will ring true with every twenty-something struggling to figure out their place and direction in life.

Shout out to Funfields!
