Wolf Alice release new EP

Wolf Alice is the band your 90’s grunge self has been waiting for for the last decade and a half. The North London four-piece have been steadily building towards the release of their debut album by teasing us with numerous EPs and one-off singles (count 2013’s Fluffy and Bros) to keep the interest on point over the last few years. The latest sly offering from the band is their brand new Creature Songs EP, containing four more pieces of their signature grunge meets folk-pop sound to add to the collection.

The EP is a Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde episode. Beginning with a bout of the raw garage-rock sound (refer: Moaning Lisa Smile above) that became synonymous with everyone’s favourite decade, the tempo is slowed down to finish, revealing more of the introspective side of the band – with leering guitars and heavy symbol work matched to Ellie Roswell’s breathy vocals on the brilliant Heavenly Creatures. Wolf Alice are keeping their options open by experimenting with different sounds, which couldn’t be a better idea as they prepare to release their full length debut album in the near future through Dirty Hit Records. Dust off those chucks!
